Paper Wings Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Over on Paper Wings they are having a Christmas in July Blog Hop and I thought I would play along! Get an early start on your Christmas, Holiday, Winter, and/or New Year Cards, Gift Cards, or other papercrafting projects with all of the creative ideas you will see. Just go to the end of this post and check out all of the other angel's blogs.

For my card I used the snowman from the TAC set 'Jingle Jolly', the frame from 'Fancy Frames' and the snowflakes and words from the 'Vintage Santa' set. I stamped the frame in Memento Black, cut it out (you can use the Spellbinders die but I wanted to show you it does not have to be used) and then colored it with two shades of gray. I stamped the snowman in the center and colored it. Here are the Copic markers I used.

I colored the background with BG0000. I love to do that for a more finished look. I then used some Copic Spica glitter pens to accent the snowman. I am hoping you can see that more in this photo.

To finished, I edged the card base with a 1/8th inch scored frame with my Scor-pal and cut a piece of teal white core card stock to fit inside. I then tore more paper for the layers of snow in the front. To get the white core to show, tear going toward you with the right side up. After layering that I stamped the top with snowflakes with gray ink. I wanted paper to match the marker I used but didn't have any so I stamped the words on white cardstock with Momento ink and then shaded it with the two colors of pink I had used for the snowman. I like the way it came out and will be sure to used that idea again! In the picture below you will be able to see it better.

The snowman is mounted over the background and I added ribbon at the bottom with a button and a bow at the side of the frame.

Deck the Halls Blog Hop 3

Here are some more items I have been making for the craft shows for gifts for the holidays. I saw this tutorial on Splitcoaststampers and just had to make it! These little Beanie Caps are a little smaller than an A2 card and open to put in a gift card. I decided I wanted to stamp inside also so when you take out the gift card you will see the greeting. I think they came out real cute. I made 24 of these last week.

Here is what it looks like when it is opened. I changed the directions and put in a brad instead of an eyelet and then I did not add the bow or decorate faux stitching since I was making so many.

And here is my favorite one ... oh maybe my fav is the snowman from yesterday ... not too sure. I made a little box bottom and attached a small bottle of Bath & Body hand sanitizer that I of course decorated. I added a back which is decorated and .....

A pocket in the back to slide in a gift card from Bath & Body, a restaurant or a gasoline card ... who doesn't need a hand sanitizer in there purse.

The pictures came out a little blurry sorry too much crafting this past week ... I made 15 of these to sell at my shows. I think this is the first time ever my hands have actually hurt from crafting TOO much this past week. But since I had sold out of so much the weekend before I had to restock my basic items and I wanted to add some new too!

I think the only other things I have that are new my blog posts are my Christmas cards but they are so simple .... I made them into packs of 4 to sell so they had to be easy and quick ... not sure you want to see these or not ... let me know.

I am tired after today's show which was OK but very different for me since I have never done a mall type show before. I did meet and talk with a lot of wonderful people from out of state ... FL, UK, IL, CA, PA and others which was a lot of fun. But I think I will stick to regular craft shows in the future. I have another one tomorrow so I have to get up before the sun another day ... booo ...... hisssss. But it will be fun since this is one of my long time shows and I know I will see lots of people I know. Hope to see you at Lake Catholic for 9-3!!

Deck the Halls Blog Hop

Welcome to the TAC Deck the Halls Blog Hop where we will be showcasing cards, home decor, gifts and more. Most of the projects I will be sharing are for gift giving. Like these little card enclosure with candy. I recycled the clam shells that TAC's Hostess Level A sets come in and added a divider, four mini cards and candy. Oh ... if you need more of these shells .... TAC is having a special right now where you can earn double Hostess rewards!! Check it out!

I used all different kinds of candy for these ... here you can see I used three Hershey Nuggets ... and decorated them with punches, words and glitter of course!

The note cards are 3" squares and I used various stamped images and words on them. The little words on most of these are from the classic set Tiny Tidbits. This tree is from a retired hostess set. I tied a ribbon at the top of each of these so it would have a finished gift wrapped look.

These are another style I made with the theme of snow. Each set I made (25 in total) is slightly different than just to keep me entertained
while I worked on them

On these I used an edge punch for the cards

These snowflackes are punched from glitter paper.

I didn't make them all with the holiday theme either since we do not always want to gift people with holiday items only. Here are a few more that I made.

Halloween Blog Hop

I was unable to participate in this due to prior committments but wanted to share it with all of you. This blog hop was sponsored by TAC, Mischelle Smith, and it very impressive. Check out how some of them took non-Halloween stamps and made them into Halloween stamps.

Blog Hop Scor-pal's Scor-bug

It's BLOG HOP time!! Be sure to read all the way to the end to see some more angels projects using the great Scor-Pal!! I love using my Scor-pal, here are few other posts (click on the links) I have using it: how to make a grid, sanding on white core paper, adding a border, making a frame and inking it, details on making diagonals, easy gift card holder, and another gift card holder. You can also check the side bar of my blog to see the links to my tutorials on the Scor-pal site. This is a great tool so be sure you are using all of the time to add detail, dimension and highlight to your projects.

Yes, I wrote that correctly ... the Scor-bug! It is a new addition to use with your Scor-pal, and it is really cool and easy to use. It matches the Scor-pal colors and can make a line of embossed dots on your card or a line of holes, which could be used for stitching too. I was playing with it early last week while I was getting my cards and gift card holders ready for Mother's day to take to Jennifer & Co Salon, where I sell my hand made items. If you are local, you can go in and see this up close and personal! In the first card, I did a plaid background with a 1/2" line of embossed and a 1/2" line of embossed dots. Look closely at the pink Matchmakers papers, I did the opposite and did a row

of holes down each of the sides. In this card you can see both ways of using the Scor-Bug. I love the added texture this Scor-bug adds to your card!! The stamp is a retired set that I have always loved called Charcoal Flowers from The Angel Company. Sorry about using so many retired stamps but sometime I love them so much I have to still keep playing with them.

On this card I did the embossed dots on Matchmakers cardstock, which has a white core, and then sanded it so the white core shows through.

Here are a few finished cards using this idea. Notice too that I really like to score the backgrounds to give them a more finished look. It adds so much to the card with the detail, depth, texture and lines.

For the next card, I lined the inside front of the card up so the diagonal corners are on the 6" line. Here is how I lined the card up on the Scor-pal. Then I did a line of scoring with the Scor-tool and then a line of embossed dots with the Scor-bug. I did these 1" apart but they could be any distance.

And here is the finished card.

On this card I lined the inside front crease up at 3 5/8" , which is at the first arrow, and then scored at 4" and 4 1/2". Then I used the Scor-bug at 4 1/4" so I could have a line of embossed dots between the scored lines. TIP: If you notice on my Scor-pal, I have put a black dot at 4 1/4" since that is where I usually score my cards.

Here is the finished card using this technique.

File boxes

As I promised, here are two new items I will be selling this weekend at my craft show. They are 4 x 6" file boxes that I made completely from paper (they are not altered art). The first one is an all purpose one using my favorite Soar with it Collection from TAC, Willoughb

y SCIC, and the stamp set Summer Elegance. The second one is for the holidays using TAC's Reece SWIC and the stamp set Holly Flourishes. You can see that the inside have actual files for organizing coupons, recipes, mail, pictures, notes, contact information, customer's information or what I originally made it for was the directions for all

of my classes since I print them on a quarter sheet of paper. These files would not be as easy to make without the Scor-pal since the scoring and folding on these must be very accurate. A smaller version of these will be shown on an upcoming Scor-pal newsletter so keep a watch out for it. The Zip Dry glue is also a must for making these since it drys clean, dries quickly, is strong, and the extra can be rubbed off. Well, I still have a few more things to get ready for tomorrow. Blog Hop

HI! I joined a blog hop with another group of angels to help show everyone more different ways to used different stamps sets. This is my first time participating in it but would love to do more!! Plus!!! I have a new item I was just going to post using Forever which does not look at all like Valentine's Day!! My camera's batteries went dead while I was taking pictures so I will post again later today! Promise!! It is a cool project that I am testing out at the craft show this weekend.
