Soulful Stitches Collection Class

This class (& a gardening one) have been in my mind for a long time!!  I love this pack of 6 x 6 papers called 'Soulful Stitches Collection' by Our Daily Bread Designs!!  I have made these sets (both of them) for my shows and have many sold them for $30.  I have 12 quick and easy cards that use this paper collection and with white, kraft, pink and light green card stock to make a great set of cards to use as gifts (or for yourself).  In the class I will have all of the papers cut for you and you will make 12 different designs with embellishments plus you get to take home the rest of the paper collection so you can create another one plus more!!  This class is $25 and you will need a 3 hour block of time to complete the cards. Class includes step by step directions, photos of cards, list of supplies, envelops, gifting pack for all 12 cards and a list of papers to cut for reference.  I will also show you a few samples for other packages for gifting all or parts for the set (4-6 cards).  I will be teaching it starting on Monday Jan 25 here in my home.  This is also one of the classes I will be teaching at Adventures in Stamping April 24-26.  Check out the calendar at the top of my blog.  I will be showing a few of the cards up close this coming week so keep coming back!  I will teach the gardening class in the Spring!  Hope Our Daily Bread Designs come up with another theme of papers and stamps that coordinate so well together this year .... hint ... hint!

Look what I made .....

Craft show season is just around the corner so I have been working the last few weeks trying to get ready for my March 12 show.  Yesterday and today I worked on making these Box of Blessings ... 14 of them!!  A Box of Blessings is an accordaian file for cards that will hold lots of greeting cards.  I sell mine with 8 cards inside with hand stamped envelopes included but they will hold more than twice that many.  All I have to do to them is put the fasteners on the front to close them. Don't they look pretty all lined up there in a row!!

As you can see I used lots of different types of decorative papers. I made 7 with a base of black and 7 with a base of dark brown.

The flowers on the front were cut from with my Cricut from the Wild Card Cartridge. I cut four different sizes and then ran through my Big Shot with an embossing folder (both Sizzix and Cuddlebug). I put them together with mounting cushion between the four flowers so they would have a nice raised look.

I am not remembering which cartridge (I use my Gypsy) I cut the leaves from but I did score down the middle with my Scor-pal so they have a little texture.  The Scor-pal makes this a really easy project to make!!  You can see the accordion folding on the side panels in the above picture.

We made these last year at my Angelic Impressions Gathering with a handle but I was having a hard time traveling with them to shows since the handle made them too hard to pack ...... so I did not put it on these to them easier to pack and carry.  You can see another post with these on them HERE.  I do have the class for sale in my store if you want to make one too!

The cards are not all the same in each one but here is a sample of one of the boxes.  I used the scrapes from the decorative papers, small embossed flowers, embossing folders and my favorite TAC word sets to make the cards.

As you can see the designs are not really hard but I think they all have a nice clean finished look. I try to include at least two birthday and two sympathy cards in each Box of Blessings.

So I hope they sell ... do you think they will? I am selling them for $20 each.  I am hoping that last falls great shows will continue this year so I want to have a lot made up and ready to sell.  And with Cleveland's weather this is a great time to get a lot made.

Be sure to check out Savory Blog to continue with the Fabulous February events.  Yesterday was my friend Heather Scott's day and she made up some really cute finger puppets with her projects.  Today is the talented Chris Franco and she show ways to color images with different medium.  There are still a lot of great designers ready to show their creations with you!

Bag of Wishes!

Are tired of seeing these yet??? Well I have more. I do work during the day here at home ... can you tell??? The top ones used 'Curls and Swirls and 'Label Lingo' for the sets of stamps.
Oh .. did I mention I will be doing an Irish American Craft show on Nov. 1 from 10-4 in Euclid so I thought I would make a few sets look Irish. Come visit me if you can it will be my first time there.
I used a retired set called 'Background Bonanza' for these last few and the words for the shamrock card are from 'Blessings'. The present is just a rectangle of paper with a bow in it. Remember these need to be quick and easy!!! Blessings

More Bag of Wishes

** Reminder - If you are planning on attending my Stamp-a-Stack on Sunday Oct 25th from 1-5 please RSVP and pay ASAP. I really do need time to cut and prepare for this ladies! Thanks!

Here are more of my Bag of Wishes cards I will be selling at my local craft shows this fall. The top two I used the stamp sets 'Curls and Swirls' and 'Sea Creatures' (look at the bottom of the one on the right for the shells). I like to then stamp the envelopes with the same stamp I used on the card so they match.
Here I used the sets 'Ordinary Greetings' and Curls and Swirls' Here is a little tip for you also!! The cupcake and the hope with the flowers are all cut from solid pink paper and then I used my Copic markers to color parts of it so it looks layered! It is so much faster then doing a second layer and I really do not think you can tell. But be sure to check out the colors on scrapes of paper first.
Here I used 'With Sympathy', a retired set called 'Background Bonanza', and 'More Elegant Sayings'. The high heel is cut from black glossy card stock so it shines! Blessings

Bag of Wishes!

This year for my craft shows I am making Bags of Wishes to sell. I will be showing you a few of them in the next few posts. I made 8 cards with stamped envelops, all blank inside, of 2 designs of each and wrapped them like the picture. I will stand these up with my stamped cubes of paper which are another good seller of mine to display. I used three basic elements in each card:
  • scored background using the Scor-pal and Scor-bug
  • die cuts using the Cricut Expression and Gypsy
  • stamps from The Angel Company
In the top two I used the stamp sets 'Curls and Swirls' and Creative 'Impressions'

In the above two sets of cards I used 'Ordinary Greetings', 'With Sympathy, and 'Build a Background' stamp sets
In these two I used 'Label Lingo', 'Curls and Swirls, and 'With Sympathy. So if you are looking for ideas for quick and fast card making these are your answer!! I will be posting more examples of them later. Have a great weekend! Blessings

Build a Buggie Set

**The Big Bite is now in stock if you have been waiting for it! And all of the scalloped punches too!

We all had so much fun playing with this set in my class using the Build-a-Buggie TAC stamp set! I made this carrot card, two different bunny cards, lots of different flowers and of course bugs with this cool set. What is so neat about this set is that is is just parts of bugs, and then you can create them in any color, direction, size and type. There are faces to give them character, wings, bodies and so much more. In the class I features Frutti Fusion and Gentle Beginnings paper collections.

If you are interested in this class and are local, I would be willing to plan one with you with at least 2-3 people. Let me know and we can set a date.

If you are not local, you can purchase the PDF file from with with all the scans and directions to make 12 different cards and a holder to hold the mini cards. E-mail me privately please.

Well, the new tile was laid in my bathroom today!! Yeah ... all of the moving, cleaning, purging, and pulling off wall paper is now starting to look better. Tomorrow I will be finishing (I hope) removing the wall paper and washing the walls down. It is going to be so nice to have it finished .... but that is a long way off ! Blessings

Birthday Folio set

Hi!! I have been getting ready for my annual Stamp-a-Stack, on Saturday. Which is Nation Card Making Day too!! Yes, I planned it that way! I thought it would be fun to celebrate with my stamping friends. I will show more of the cards we will be making later this week. But tonight I thought I would show you a Folio I made for our Birthday present swap for the NE OH Gathering. (I did add a few other things too!) This one is made for gift cards and tags. The gift cards are 3" & 2" squares that open up like cards and I added some tags too. I used Keep Smilin' for the stamps and Uptown Girl Wing it Collection for the papers. The lunch bag behind it is covered with matching papers for it' wrapping. I will be repeating the folio class again using the Hemingway papers if you are still interested in how to make this and one other type of folio give me a call. Blessings

Quick note card set

Here is a fun and quick idea for a note card set. I made this for my Hostesses in Aug. It is made with a half page sheet protector (shortened a little) & Kaleidoscope Brights Soar with it Collection. I slipped a piece of green Matchmakers paper inside the open side of the page protector. Then glued a flap of printed paper to it on the back side. The white bitty flowers is sponged with two different colors of ink to match. The elastic around it is dyed to match the flowers with Orangerie Palette Ink, it keeps it all tightly closed. I put green ribbon under the flowers for leaves. And here is a trick I learned from an angel friend, Jewels, I put an eyelet through the flower to hold it in place and then add a drop of Stickles inside the eyelet to make it look like a jewel.

For the note cards I cut two 3/4 x 6" strips of matching card stock and glued them on the card front at the top folded edge crossing each other. Then I cut off the ends to match the edges of the card. Added a matching flower and put her name at the bottom with TAC's Level D Hostess set, Scripty Bet. I love this set! I have a few other cards on my blog using this same idea too. These are quick and easy and make a great gift. I hope you try it! After my gathering I will show you another version of this too! Blessings

Everyday Events Folio

I am having fun making these little folios for cards! This one is for 3" note cards using KaliedoscopeBoyz and Everyday Events. This Wing It Collection is perfect for this set with all of the bright colors. The Everyday Events set is a great one for beginners since you get words for most every occasion you need and an image too. It has 9 images (wedding cake & Santa are not shown) and 9 words to match. You can then mix and match the images with the words so the flowers could say 'happy birthday'. I colored mine with colored pencils as I was watching a movie ... my favorite time to color.

I will be teaching the great fold for this project using the Hemingway Soar with It Collection in my, Folio Fun Class, the last weekend in Sept. I made a mistake and called it the Winchester Collection in my last post, sorry!! So sign up early to save a spot. I will show you this one in the class too so you can see how to fold it using all kinds of papers in all sizes!

Look out ... abundance is coming your way! Watch for it! Blessings
