I'm here!

Hi Everyone! Happy Easter!!! I had computer challenges and it took me a while to figure out how to get everything working together again.... all better now.  Sorry it has been so long since I posted.  I would like to have a shout out to see how many people are reading this to see if I should continue.  I only had one person notify me that she missed me.  So please post a "hi" in the comments if you would like me to continue to post what I have been making.  Thanks!!  Also, if you are one of my local stampers let me know if you would be interested in a spring stamping event May 7 or May 14.

I have been making all kinds of fun cards for preparation for the markets opening in May!!  I will be doing the Willoughby Farmer's Marktet on Saturdays from 8-noon starting in May till the end of Sept. and the Mentor Market on Fridays from 2-6:30 starting in June.

This is one of the new types of cards I have been making. They are  tri-easel card.  I put three of my own photos on the card and heart felt words with embellishments.  They fold down and I have an envelope that it can be mailed in included.  They are approximately 4 1/4 x 10 1/4" in size.  You can sign your own words on the back of the card.

Products used: Heartfelt Creations, Our Daily Bread Designs and Paper Smooches.

Penguin Boxie

I started making these last year and they were a good seller so I made a few changes in them and made 12 (different themes) for this years shows.  This one uses the Hero Arts stamp 'n die set Penguins.  I have  been using this one a lot since it is so darn cute.  The boxie has 4 'thanks' (Paper Smooches) note cards, a coaster, a magnetic bookmark, cookies, hot cocoa and a candy cane.  I have them all wrapped up with a little gift tag on them for quick gift giving.

I generated the background paper from my computer.  The large 'O' is from Jillian Stamps.  I have many more variations of this card too.

Cleveland Browns cards

Yes I have Cleveland Browns cards made too!  They sell quickly though.  This one is a side step card, die from Sizzix, and dawg  is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and Karen Burniston.  I made the background papers and Cleveland Browns from my computer.  The football, football player and touchdown words are from Echo Park.  They have a great collection of sports stamps with matching dies.  I got the football and of course the basketball but will be getting the baseball in the spring.  They are great since you can stamp them in one of the team colors and then add color with the second team color making them very versatile.   I have lots of variations of this card too.  I almost forgot the dog bone is from Paper Smooches.

Pivot Card Dotted Butterfly

For this pivot card I cut the same die twice one for the card front and a second time on a larger dotted paper to match the small dots and then layered them.  The inside of this card is the solid background craft and it looks really nice (forgot to take a photo of it sorry).  The large word stamp is from Paper Smooches and the flowers are one of my most used dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Graduation in Mojo Class

Here is the second card we will be using the Tim Holtz's Marker Spritzer in but this time with a stencil!  It makes it so easy to use stencils.  We will be making our own graduation cap too.  If you do not need a graduation card we can make it into a birthday card instead!  It even has an place inside to put an monetary gift!  Le me know if you are coming to class this week.

Happy Everything!

Aren't those great words for a card!  This card used Paper Smooches 'Simply Said' Set and 'Calico'.  Calico is a build a flower set which is fun to use.  The petals of this large flower is really a leaf but I thought it would be great like this.  Here is another card using the same idea and sets.  I also used Viva pens for the dots.

Everyone needs thank you cards, so I made up a few quick ones to sell this weekend at my craft show at St Pasquale, Saturday March 22, from 9-4.  Hope to see some of you there!  I have lots of items for Easter; new wedding, anniversary, graduation, get well and thanks cards; and other items as I have been showing earlier this month on my blog for my last show.

These two cards are made with a fun new word stamp set called 'Pretty Phrases', 'Botanical 2' and 'Calico' all from Paper Smooches.  See the sets below.  This company has some fun word stamps with great script writing and stamps to build your own designs.  Let me know if you see any thing you like and I will order it for you.  The die I used for the vase is called 'Bottled Up' from Avery Elle and the technique I taught in my March Mojo and will be teaching in my Dynamic Distress Stains classes.  The Dynamic Distress Stains class is a class where I teach 32 different techniques on how to use the Tim Holtz Stains in your card and craft projects.  We make a tech book. More Stenciling

This card was done with a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop (Balzer Designs) and it has both the random dots and a flower border.  I use Distress Inks for all of the images but then added Wink of Stella Glitter Brushed in different colors over the flowers and leaves.  You can not see in the photo but it does have a lot of shimmer and shine.  The words are from Paper Smoothes called 'Pretty Phases'.

All white!

I have been wanting to make an all white card for a long time so here it is!  I used a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop for the background textured dots with white embossing paste.  The flowers and leaves are cut from vellum with centers of crystal gems.  I added crystal Stickles for dots around the area for added glitz.  The words are from Paper Smooches from a set called 'Pretty Phases'. I thought this would make a great wedding or anniversary card.

Love you Dearly

Here is an example of stenciling with with Distress Stains, grey and tan, and stenciling with Distress Inks and a Tim Holtz Tool, pink hearts.  The stains give a bolder more saturated look with less control on your part where the inks you have more control over the darkness and where you add the most ink. The gray and tan colored images are from a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop and the hearts are from a stencil from Heidi Swapp called ' Confetti'.  I stamped heart stamps in the background using a set by Unity called 'Loolah Collection'.  The words are from a great set by Paper Smooches called ' Pretty Phases'.  I love the font and size of these stamps! The hearts are die cut from Spellbinders 'Scaloped Hearts' and then embossed with various embossing folders.  I added inks, glitter and Crystal Accents to give a shiny look.

Playing with Stains & Stencils

With all of this cold snowy weather I have had some time to play!!  I was playing with my Distress Stains (my favorite things right now) and stencils to see what I could do.  I used a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop for the background giving a tiled look. I applied the stain with the Tim Holtz Distress tool tapped it into a puddle of stain and dabbing with an up and down motion over the stencil.  I like that look the best.  For the fern, I made my own stencil with a Spellbinders foliage die and dabbed the stain right over the stencil and it soaked in a little more.  Not the look I really like.  But it is good to try different ways of doing things. The flower is cut with a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs called Flowers #1 and cut from vellum!!!  I then used my Distress Stains to color the vellum.  I love this look a lot!  The word stamp is from Paper Smooches called 'Pretty Phases' and the little dots are a stamp from a set called 'Petals & Stems' from Avery Elle.  I also added a light blue Stickles for dots.  I love how it came out!!
