One Layer Wonders Challenge

 Here is a card I made today for the One Layer Wonders Challenge on the TACPC, TAC's  Paper Crafting Community. Check out the link to see what everyone is making!  I had punched out a lot of snow flacks from glitter paper this fall for my Snowman Popcorn Gift card holders and saved the negatives to use as a border for cards.  So today I took the negatives and turned them upside down onto this card front and sponged over it to make these snow flacks .... I can still use them as borders also since the ink is on the back of the negatives.  Then I sponged along the edge of the card for accent with the same color ink.

 I used the snowman from Winter Flurries and colored it with colored pencils, gray Towbow maker,  and glitter pen.  I also added glitter pen to the spokes of each of the snowflakes.

Then I stamped the words from Merry Wishes at the bottom in black ink and then again in the same color of blue ink stamping off first to get the second generation of the ink and off set it.  I like the way this turned out ..... no layers, no ribbons, not embellishments!  It is only one half sheet of paper ... how inexpensive can cards get!!

I worked most of the day today on a few stamping projects I wanted to get started and wow .... I totally finished one of them!!!  YEA ME!!!  It is cold,  slippery and snowy today so it was a good day to stamp and be creative.   You will see my projects sometime this month.  I need a sunnier day to take pictures.

All Occasion Circles

I will be teaching my Circle Crazy Class starting next week and wanted to share a sneak peek. The class is on Thurs Aug 28 from 6-8:30 (full), Sunday Aug 31 from 2-4:30, and Tues Sept 2 from 1-3:30 and 6-8:30. We will be making 6 easy and quick cards with some of TAC's fun circle stamps. This is a great class for beginners or those who want to learn quick and easy designs to make in minutes. Cost is $15 and bring your basic kit and Scor-pal. This card is made using All Occasions Circles, Hostess set Feel better, and Forever Family. I did it with one color in and black. The lighter shade is second generation ink. I use the Scor-pal on the side edge to give me a boundary so I could stamp the half circles at the same depth. Yes, the Scor-pal can be a design tool, embossing tool, scoring tool and a tool to make boundaries! It is so versatile! On the second card I used All Occasion Circles, Linear Sentiments and one of our FREE Gift with Purchase stamps from TAC.

Once a month I am going to feature a set for everyone to join in on with your samples. Reach out and touch someone ....

The last few days I have spent some time making cards for individuals for different personal reasons. When I first started rubber stamping and paper crafting I did this a lot ... 30 or so per month. But now, I am busy stamping for swaps, classes, samples, magazines etc. and have not put as much of my time into sending to others. It brought me great pleasure to put 39 envelopes in the mail the other day and today I have about 15 more to get out. And if ... I can get ready for my class tomorrow and do a few more things ..... I want to make a few more and send them tomorrow. Sending hand-made cards is why I started rubber stamping so I want to get back into it more. It makes be feel good to know that I have reached out to others in this simple way. When was the last time you sent a card or note to someone to let them know that you care, for a birthday, for a congrats, or just for thinking about them. My challenge to you this month ... the month of 'love' is to send someone your love via a home-made card. Then let me know how it touched you and if the other person sends one back how did you feel. Go for it!
