Blog Hop - Retiform tech

Welcome to another TAC Blog Hop ... this month it is a technique form the past called Retiform ... never was my favorite .... but I thought I would give it try with a twist from the present!  Yes, I used my Scor-pal with it.  For the top card I did the technique and then added the Scor-bug lines .... which was harder to do.  I scored them lightly first from the front and then from the back used the Scor-bug over the scored lines.  I love the finished results but next time would start with the Scor-bugged lines and then do the technique with the lines as my guides.  I used TAC stamp set called 'Girls day out' for both of my cards.

Here is a little closer look at the detail.  I colored with my Copic markers the inks etc are in a picture toward the end.  I added two holes on one line and added a ribbon with a cut out and colored flower on the knot for an embellishment.  There is shading under the tea pot but it does not show up in the photo and in person it looks better blended.

For this card I did the lines first with my Scor-buddy, yes I did a double line, and then masked and did the technique.   The image is colored with Copics and I used the blender pen to take away the color for the dots on the boots. By coloring with Copic makers you can see from the back where your image is and it easy to place the scored lines around it.   I punched out and mounted three little flowers and added them for embellishments with Stickles in the center.

I was originally going to ink around the white corner but decided I liked the clean finish look better.  I probably added too much ink to the card for the tech but I was using a make-up sponge and I usually do not use this kind it was hard for me to control the ink.

Here are the inks and maker colors I used.  And yes .... your eyes are seeing something in that picture that I'll bet many of you have NEVER seen before!!!  It is a wood mounted stamp from yes .... wait for it .... THE ANGEL COMPANY!!!!  It was probably one of my first stamps I got from the company 12 years ago.  It still stamps great too!

Now I have added the link for you to view others creations in the blog hop so get hopping .... and give it a try yourself before Sunday night!

Oh my gosh, leave it to you to use the Scor-Pal WITH the retiform technique. You are just too clever. I love all your cards, Rita. Great job and even greater ideas.

Rita, I would not have thought of using the score-bug to define the edges, but I love the effect and plan to use that techinque in the future. You are so clever. Love the card.
