at my local stamping store a few weeks ago, Rochelle's in Euclid, and had a great time. I wanted to learn more about Panpastel chalks since I have seen some beautiful work done with them. Bev, the teacher, had a different approach than I have seen .... she gave us the stamped images (I think they are all Magenta) and the Panpastel chalks and lets up play. We then took the colored images home to make them into cards. It was fun!
On this one she put Gesso on the paper first and then stamped the image. It gave the paper a little more grip in holding the PanPastels Chalks. I wasn't crazy about the shade of green in this card but that was the one in front of me so I needed to use it. I put Crystal Lacquer in the centers of my flowers.
The bird and the tree part are Tim Holtz grunge paper with the chalks.
This one I used a new product for me ... Tim Holtz crackle is on the wings of the dragonfly. It really does look great!
This is one I did on my own ... it is a Gina K stamp, stamped in burgandy and the white parts I put the chalks on. These chalks have very little dust and bold bright colors. They blend a lot better than other chalks also.
If you haven't taken a class lately .... then get to one. They are fun, you learn a lot of new things, you spark your creative juices and meet a lot of great people .... I have never meet a stamper I did not like!
