For the Kitties

I had a lot of fun the other day making kitty cards.  I had purchased a new pad of printed paper from Hobby Lobby which is a heavy craft paper and black.  I love the prints and decided that these kitty stamps would really look good with the papers.  I think I ended up making 10-12 different cards with theses kitty images from Stamping Sensations and craft papers.  I do have a few of these kitty sets in stock here if you would like them.  Email me privately for the information to purchase them.

Most of the words are retired TAC stamps.  Are they just the cutest cards!!  I will not bore you with all of them but here is a sampling of them I made to sell.
I learned something too ... you know how sometimes there is one print in a pack of paper you really do not like or does not fit your style of stamping.  Well ... I looked on the back of one for the animal prints (I am not a leopard kinda girl) and notices the back was a great darker craft color .... so I decided to stamp some of the kitties on the back of the printed paper!  It was a good contrast with the lighter craft color for my base of the cards and matched the printed paper so well.  You can see it on the above card with the kitty sitting up.

These were all so quick and easy to make and so much fun.  Hope you like them.

Last post with Mother's Day cards

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day!!!  I made a series of this type of cards and these area a sampling of them.  I used spring flowers from Stamping Sensations and different Spellbiners die cuts and various papers.  The words are from TAC 'Trendy Greetings'.  All of them are colored with Copic markers.

If your mother is still alive but sure to talk with her or see her today, it means so much to mother's to know their children love them and are thinking of them.  Blessings to all of you!

The color purple

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted .... I have been stamping and creating things really ... I just can not show you here what I have been doing yet.  Time will come though soon.

Here is a card I made for a friend's birthday using a stamp from Just for Fun.  I love the look of the realistic flowers.  It is colored with Copics and I used a Sizzix Texture Fade embossing folder for the black mat and my Scor-buddy on the white base card. I also added a clear glitter pen for accent with the ribbon.

This one was for another friend that I send out last week.  The tulip image is from Stamping Sensations. It is colored with Copics and is stamped on a Spellbinders Die with a Sizzix Texture Fade for the purple.

Our Angelic Impressions Gathering is in two weeks and I have a few places still open but will need to know today or tomorrow if you are interested in attending.  All of the information is at the top of my blog under 2011 Gathering.  I will not be able to get any sleeping rooms at this time though.  I am so loving the projects we will be making at this gathering ... my theme is practical and simple with class!  I may have to show you a few next week as a sneak peek .... do you want sneak peeks????  It is really going to be fun!!

My family room is done except for moving a large piece of furniture that I need help with .... anyone available to help me???  My decking is in the drive way and he will be putting it on next week.  This is so exciting for me .... it has been a dream of mine for so long.  I feel so guilty doing all of this when I keep hearing all the tragedy going on in the world ..... but it is started now ..... so I need to keep going .... right???  I hope everyone will come over this summer and help me enjoy it!

Spring flowers - yellow

This is the last of them ... same as before I used Stamping Sensation Stamps for the images and TAC word stamps.  The backgounds are Sizzix Textured Embossing folders which I personally like so much more than Cuddlebug since they are large enough for the whole front of an A2 card and they emboss so much deeper.  I also used my new oval beaded Spellbinder dies for the image shape.

Yesterday I was able to make 50 cards for the City of Mentor to use for Thank you notes.  They wanted a picture from the square on it and the logo for the city.

I also had a few cancellations for my Gathering May 14-15 so if you are still wanting to attend I have space now.  I have my trades almost completely done so I do not have to do them closer to the event.  How are you doing on yours?

Spring flowers - blue

Here are more of my Spring flower cards from last week.  These are again Stamping Sensation stamps and TAC words.  I used a border Spellbinder embossing folder for the edge and used the Scor-pal to accent it along with the ribbon.  It is also accented with the clear Spica glitter pen.

Here us another version with gingham .... I love this one!

For this card I used a Sizzix Textured Embossing folder for the background and put glitter on the beads of the Spellbinder die cut.

I am hoping to get some plans made up for my new deck this week and hope to start my painting in the family room.  I am so excited for the new work I have planned for my home.  But there is a lot of work to go into it.

Spring flowers

I just needed some Spring last week so in my down time I stamped and die cut these Spring flowers and then colored them. On Sunday I put them together into cards.  I so love the look of the clean fresh look of Spring flowers .... I almost think I can smell them.  The stamps are from Stamping Sensation, the words are from TAC.  I colored them with my Copic markers and used the new beaded oval Spellbinders dies for them.  I am loving these!! There are so many things you can do with them.  Oh ... don't let me fool you ... it is only a two layer card ... the green edge matches the coloring since it is my Copic marker.  I had used different shades of green for it that did not match the paper as well so with Copic you can go over your work to change it ... so I added a little more YG instead of all G.  I do not think you can even tell.

For this one I added a lime green Spica Glitter pen for the stitching around it and a clear one to highlight the flower.

On the last one I made dots with the Copic fine liner and then was able to find I had ribbon that almost matched it.  I love this look.

If you are in the area and going to Adventures in Stamping in April remember my friend Pat and I are teaching a class using Copic markers.  Be sure to sign up for it if you have not already taken it.  I have a book of directions and samples to help you learn how to use your Copic that is included with the class, you can read more about it under 'Classes' at the top of this page.  I also send it to non-locals for a fee via email.

Gathering trades

For my gathering last May, I asked everyone to make a 3 x 4" trading card without words for one of the projects we were making, Create-a-Card box. These then went into the box with word plates, white scored card bases and envelopes. Then when you need a card you can select one of the main images, a card base and a word plate (or stamp your words right onto the card base) for a quick card. Here are some of the ones I received as trades that I made up into cards. The top one was a trade from Sue F using the TAC set, 'Toot your horn'. I stamped words on the top and then you can see the little paper at the bottom where I stamped the words for the inside of the card. I added ribbon down the side with a half mat of black.
This one was designed my Angi H. I added a stamped image to the background of the scored bases and then to the front of the bib to help it tie in. Isn't this a cute idea with the punches?? The stamps I used are all retired TAC.
This cute little girl, TAC image, was made by Debbie D. I added words on the front and inside from Stamping Sensation. I loved these words with this image ... they have spunk!
I used the same Stamping Sensation set for this card too. The card was made by Yuki and is a current Hostess set for TAC.

I will be showing more of these tomorrow so come on back. I hope the gals from the gathering have made up there cards also!

Precious Photo card

Did I get a lot done today ... wow ... and I am not even tired!! Got lots of things that NEEDED to get done this morning and early afternoon and then when it started to rain I sat down and got to work making cards. Yes, I make cards for a living and I am running low so I NEEDED to get more made for the store and for my Open Markets. Then this evening I got a lot of laundry done and put away.

I looked though some of my pictures I had developed and decided to use some of them for my cards. This one I decided to cut the flower out from it's background and it really is a striking on the card that way. I added a scored background with my Scor-pal and some words from Stamping Sensations and a little ribbon and it looked done. It was too easy ... so I decided to make a few more like this one and will be showing you them for the next few days.

Now for a bit of good news .... the tree in my backyard that fell about a month ago finally got cut up and taken away and I am so pleased with how it will be used. The guy who cut it did not charge me much if he could take the wood to use it for his boy scout troop's campfires. It makes me feel so good to know that is what it is going for. Also, that it did not cost me that much to get taken care of either is good news.

A Hug

This sentiment is perfect for everything .... I love it and it is so true! It is from DRS Designs and remember to click on the link and sign up daily for an opportunity to win a FREE stamp everyday for the month of June!! It is called Hug is a perfect gift, 832 G. On this cards I embossed the coral background under the words with a Cuddlebug folder. The images are from Stamping Sensations from a set called Botanical Collection #2
I colored the three images with my Copic markers and cut them out then layered them for more accent. It is hard to see in the picture but I colored the backgrounds of the squares with the Copic quads. These add a little color but not so much it takes away form the images. I also added a lot of clear glitter pen but I am not sure it shows in the photo either. The flowers and leaves are from punches and the center is a faux pearl drop.
I even decorated the inside of this card. It is fun making fancy cards insides decorated also.

Ready for some more good news!!!! Another dream of mine is coming true ...... I will be taking a vacation this summer with a friend in Chicago and while I am there we will be attend CHA. I have always wanted to go to this and now another thing from my bucket list will be checked off. And yes there will be more good news tomorrow ... isn't it fun to have a little piece of good news everyday. It helps us to focus on the good in our lives which is always a blessings.

What is your good news for today??? Share with me in a comment.
